LONDON STYLE DIARY

Tuesday 27 May 2014

This past bank holiday weekend has by far been one of the best weekends this year. I headed on another trip to London to see the Arctic Monkeys which was amazing! On the Sunday I decided to head on a venture and visit all the typical tourist places. The weather was divine so the new sunglasses were out. The striped dress that I wore was recently purchased from Zara and was perfect for a daytime look that was not too overdressed or underdressed. I was a tad apprehensive of what to wear because of the unpredictable British weather, but what I did decide to wear was perfect! Big on the spring 2013 catwalks filtering into 2014 trends, stripes seem to be everywhere at the minute on the high street. The simple trend can be adapted easily and accessorised to be made to look great! Hope you enjoy my most recent blog post; hope you all have had a great weekend.

Outfit details: Dress – Zara at £29.99, Boots – Topshop £78.00 now £55.00, Bag – H&M, Sunglasses – PRADA, Necklace – Topshop.

CORDS

Thursday 22 May 2014

Our love at the moment is definitely cords. Co-Ordinates can be seen everywhere, especially on the blogosphere, the coordinated pieces look effortless and are great for summer (especially the shorts and bralets.) These cords are all from Missguided, who in our personal opinion; along with Asos, offer the most stylish and wearable co-ordinates. Cords can be found in suits and in shorts/skirts with tops, in a variety of prints and pastel colours and can be worn casual with Birkenstocks in the summer days or paired with heels and a clutch for the night time.

LONDON HAUL

Tuesday 20 May 2014

As we said yesterday we spent the day in London, in the desperate search for some new summer clothes. My wardrobe is mainly black, so in search of summer I decided to find some lighter coloured, loose fabric clothing.
Firstly I got 3 items from H&M, which in my personal opinion have got an amazing summer collection this year, taking current and predicted trends.
Above are my items from H&M. I have been looking for a peplum style skirt for summer as Zara have had some gorgeous ones, however to my surprise H&M had just a good a quality and the fit was perfect. It is all white with some panelling on the sides. I then matched a floral vest top with some detailing on the collar and finally just what I have been looking for: a nude sleeveless long line blazer!
Skirt- £14.99, Top- £24.99, Blazer- £24.99
Finally of course I had to make some Zara purchases. I love the loose nude fabric of the top and shorts, with the detailing of the buckle wrap on the side of the shirt, matching it with i brightly coloured beaded necklace.
Shorts - £25.99, Shirt- £29.99, Necklace- £19.99

LONDON SHOPPING SPREE

So yesterday me and Charlotte headed off to London on a major shopping spree. What a day it was, the sun was shining (at times too hot on the underground) and spirits were happy. Personally I was in dyer need of some new summer clothes i.e. lighter fabrics and floral colours. From starting the day in Camden to shopping on Oxford Road then ending in Covent Garden... I was shattered!

In total I brought five items that I totally fell in love with; the first items were purchased from H&M, which was a huge store! H&M this season have really been on point personally for me, the great variety of clothes offered was wonderful. The green khaki dress that was £24.99 is a perfect garment for warm summer days with a light embossed outer fabric and a undergarment to protect ones modesty. The photo does not do it justice. The white dress with a slight peplum hem came in at £14.99, taking inspiration from Victoria Beckham designs. The cream blouse/kimono with medium length tassels was priced at £19.99, perfect for a festival look.
Next it was onto Zara where I purchased a divine floral crop top and jewel necklace. The crop top was priced at £29.99 and featured an open back finished with a bow/tie at the bottom. I was in dyer need of a new necklace and Zara never seem to disappoint with their costume jewellery with the necklace priced at £19.99.
Finally I decided to purchase a kimono which is extremely useful for wearing over a bikini on holiday or making up a festival outfit. I never usually shop in  Newlook however I saw this kimono in the window as it caught my eye and I decided to purchase. Topshop recently sold a similar styled one however I aimed to shop around until I fount another. This kimono came in at the cheap respectable price of £22.99.
There it is my shopping spree purchases, I hope you have enjoyed reading this point and good bye for now!

CASUAL MONOCHROME

Sunday 18 May 2014

So this is my first blog post which I am extremely nervous about. I have not yet quite mastered the perfect blog pose however I thought I would give it my best shot. The outfit which is featured is fairly casual, perfect for warm day where you don’t want to be either too hot or cold. I found this outfit great for going out to lunch in the sun. Although the colours of the outfit are not at all summery, monochrome was a safe option for the first post. Top/jumper was purchased from H&M at around £30.00, pants from Topshop and shoes from Primark! The pants are based upon a sport luxe style and are a particular favourite of mine due to the amazing comfort, etched into the fabric are small jaguars finished with a draw string waist. The top/jumper is a fairly new item within my closet brought from H&M I love the loose fitting style alongside the padding on the front of the garment. This outfit is a safe option however both garments have individual features which give them that special edge.
Thank you for reading.

SUMMERS COMING

With the beautiful weather lately, I thought i'd do a summer wishlist. Right now scuba and neoprene are everywhere, commonly it is used in watersports however designers are bringing it to their runways seen in the menswear Calvin Klein and Gucci. Triangl is an Australian swimwear and underwear brand, offering neoprene and mesh designs exclusively to females. Ever since I found out about Triangl, i have been in love. The neoprene flatters any figure with colours that flatter your tan, each item also comes with its own neoprene drawstring bag for that extra detail. Hopefully I will get my hands on one of their bikini's this summer as I am totally in love.

Birkenstock Revamp

Thursday 15 May 2014

Welcome to our first post. As many of you will have seen there is an old classic making a comeback, the Birkenstock. These sturdy, well-designed sandals seem to be the shoe trend of the summer, easy to wear  in the daytime or on an evening. They can be found  all over the highstreet and in the designer market with the peachy pink Givenchy design.
I got these authentic leather sandals from Zara recently, for a bargain price and they come in a variety of colours!
